I was diagnosed with stage 0 DCIS…I was scared, I was petrified at times. Your mind can start spinning out of control with all of the different information…We have a large family and I knew I could count on them. My dear friends, they were always there by my side, my teammates were amazing…One message that I would like to share is that you know your body better than anybody else, so if something doesn’t feel right, please, don’t put it off, get a mammogram. Put those fears aside, and go, early detection today is the key.

I needed to understand why and what it was I was being told by my doctor, and I kept landing on Breastcancer.org. It was really the only site that I felt that provided me with answers to my questions in my language that I could understand.

Her cancer was discovered early and her prognosis is excellent. She says without a routine mammogram, she might not have been so fortunate.
``People who care, people with a purpose, people who will fight for a future without breast cancer, because of you, we are able to keep on going. 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, we’re open to help women get answers to their critical questions…And it’s their precious lives at stake.``

I felt like my world was turned upside down...During that time I quickly learned that you never go through this journey alone…People from every walk of our life came to help, and I realized that that is where you get all of your strength and courage…I feel stronger, I feel more courageous, and I feel more confident about my future than I ever thought possible. This is a battle that we don’t have to lose. We have to continue to fight, and we have to do it together.
